Memorex MRX-530LE Burns cd’s wont burn dvd’s ?????
Had this thing about 2 months now and up till today it worked great. Woke up this morning tried to burn a dvd using Nero7 that came with it same as always and it burned fine like it always does. Then started the data verification and it failed on a lot of sectors. Thought it was a bad dvd so tried again. Same outcome. I thought maybe it just wasn’t verifying for some reason so I checked the dvd’s on 2 computers and a standalone dvd player. None could read them. I tried a cdr and it works perfect. went back to the dvd’s didn’t work.
Tried 3 different programs (Roxio, Nero, ImgBurn) on two different computers (the drive is external by the way) to burn dvd’s none work. They all go through the process as if they are working but the data is bad everytime..
Very confused as to why I Can write cdr’s but not dvds.
What could be the problem?
Sounds like there’s a problem with the red or dvd laser, maybe getting weak or erratic, the burner would still go through the motions
The cd uses a different laser, infrared
